Kestrel Tool is a small tool shop on Lopez Island, on the unceded Coast Salish territories of the Samish, Lummi, S’Klallam, Swinomish, Stillaguamish, Songhee, Saanich, and other Straits Salish people, currently known as Washington state. For four decades we have been making wood carving tools in small batches, by hand, supplying artists and craftspeople with some of the finest blades available. Handcrafted with high carbon tool steel made here in the USA, and the highest quality hard rock Maple, our crooked knives and adzes are exceptionally functional and elegant at the same time. They are made one at a time with integrity, care and love.

Kestrel crooked knife blades can be purchased with or without handles. Blade designations from left to right are A,B,C,E, H1,H2,H3,H, 1,2,3,4, 5,6,7, 8,9,10. These are unfinished so you can see the shape better.
Blades can be had on their own, without handles, if you’d like to make your own or save a few bucks.

We’re a small, handcrafted tool business, and appreciate both your business and your patience. (We’re not Amazon.com and that’s why you love us, right?) IF you are placing a large order please contact me directly about shipping timeframe and expectations! Large orders take more time!
EDUCATORS PLEASE NOTE that any large orders (5 or more of the same item) placed by educators and schools serving Native Youth and other Native learners are eligible for a 10% discount, so long as the order is placed at least three months in advance.
